Bid Price: $1.3 Million Dollars
September 8th Update: Mathiowetz Construction is the prime contractor. The grading of the roadway is complete. The installation of the box culverts (replacing the old bridge), should be completed by Friday. Completion was delayed several weeks due to the creek elevations caused by the substantial rainfalls.
Pavement surfacing will be bituminous. CSAH 23 will be paved in 2011 to allow a freeze thaw cycle to occur and allow us to identify any settlement issues prior to paving.
County Road 79 from CSAH 16 to Swan Lake Public Access
Begin Construction: June 1st, 2010 Open to Traffic: June 11th, 2010
September 8th Update: Work is complete and the only item remaining is minor erosion repairs to the ditches. This project is funded by the Department of Natural Resources with State Park Road Account funds.
CSAH 25 (Adams St.) from CSAH 115 (Airport Road) to S. Fork Crow River
Begin Construction: 2011 construction season Open to Traffic: TO BE DETERMINED
This project is approximately 1.5 miles in length and involves milling off a portion of the existing bituminous and replacing with concrete surfacing. The construction should last approximately 2 months. The road will be closed to thru traffic with limited access to residents along the corridor. Drivers should expect delays and periods where the road is very rough.
August 9th Update: Bid opening was June 25th. The construction will occur over 25 working days after June 13th of 2011. Allowing flexibility in the start of construction for the bidding contractors will result in more favorable bid prices.
CSAH 2 between Glencoe and Silver Lake (CSAH 3 to CSAH 24)
Begin Construction: April 15, 2011 Open to Traffic: July 1, 2011
July 20th Update: The bid opening was June 25th, 2010. Construction will occur in 2011. Originally planned for 2010 construction, it was moved to 2011 for two reasons. An additional $500,000 in Federal funds was secured for this project. Finalizing the additional federal funds delayed the letting date of the project. Having a bid opening now and waiting until the spring of 2011 to construct will allow us to recieve more favorable bids as most concrete contractors have schedules filled for 2010.
This project is over 7 miles in length and involves milling off a portion of the existing bituminous and replacing with concrete surfacing. The construction should last approximately 3 months. The road will be closed to thru traffic with limited access to residents along the corridor. Drivers should expect delays and periods where the road is very rough.
