The County Board has approved a Dust Control program for 2010.
This is an opportunity for residents to pay the County Highway Department to apply liquid Calcium Chloride on gravel roads near their residence for the purpose of controlling dust. All townships have also been offered the opportunity to participate in this dust control program as well. The applications and cost will be the same for landowners and residents along both township and county gravel roads.
The Dust Control was applied the week of June 14. If you still desire dust control near your residence, you will have to contract with a private firm**.
** For residents that contract with a private firm for dust control, we ask you that you notify us so we have a record of your location for normal blading. Also, if you are not using Magnesium Chloride or Calcium Chloride we ask you to contact us so we can approve of the product you would like apply.
** Routine maintenance including blading will be continued in the areas of treatment.
