The McLeod County Administration Department serves County taxpayers, the Board of Commissioners and County employees. This is done by encouraging two-way communication through positive and trusting relationships that empower Administration staff to make efficient, effective and fair decisions. Treating all people with respect, inspiring cooperation and promoting openness to change and new ideas will result in good stewardship of County resources and a safe and healthy work environment.

Under the general direction of the County board, the County Administrator provides overall evaluation, planning, coordination, management and direction of McLeod County Departments. The County Administrator administers the policies and programs approved by the County Board and supervises the management function of the County over which the Board has authority. He is clerk to the board, keeps an accurate record of its official proceedings, carefully preserves all documents, books, records, maps, and other papers requried to be deposited in the Administration office and is present at each regular meeting of the board in accordance with state and federal regulations. The Administrator supervises the Human Resources Director, Administrative Assistant and Building Services Supervisor.

The Human Resources Director provides coordination and administration of the county's personnel functions in accordance with state and federal regulations.

The Building Services Supervisor reports to the County Administrator. Building Services is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the main courthouse and jail complex, the Health and Human Services Building, and the North Complex where the Assessor, Auditor, Recorder, and Treasurer offices are located. They also clean and maintain the offices in Hutchinson. He is assisted by Building Maintenance Staff Luther Tschudi, Dave Aul and Dan Gildea.
