The current Law Enforcement Center was attached the courthouse in Glencoe and opened in 1982 as the primary base of operations for the Sheriff’s Office. It houses all the divisions of the office. Since that time, the office has gone through some growing pains due to increase in technology equipment and inmates. In 2012, the Communication Center was moved to the large meeting room in order to provide space for emergency phone system, the 800 mh radio system, security camera system and dispatching program. In March of 2016, construction began on the addition to the jail. This project is projected to be completed in 2018.
The Sheriff’s Office has a Hutchinson satellite office at the McLeod County Solid Waste Facility, 1065 5th Ave SE. This office is used for investigation interviews and is not staffed.
